Randy A. Harris teaches Rhetoric, Linguistics and Communication Design in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Waterloo. He is the author of the critically acclaimed The Linguistics Wars (now in its second edition), which provides a historically documented and theoretically sophisticated reconstruction of the “Deep Structure debates” that rocked Generative Linguistics in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. He is also co-editor, with Jeanne Fahnestock, of the new Routledge Handbook of Language and Persuasion.
